The Falls General Store is currently a natural foods market with a full café serving breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as having a fully stocked deli and ongoing catering events. We have a state of the art culinary kitchen and bakery and make all of our meals from scratch along with our breads and pastries. Our employees enjoy a casual work environment, with opportunities for development and a real opportunity to make a difference. We have several positions opened in the back of the house and front of the house. Line Cook

Full time - Compensation based on experience In collaboration with the head chef the line cook contributes to the overall success of the store by preparing and assembling dishes according to the kitchens recipes; ensuring consistency and high quality in our foods. Key responsibilities include: Responsibilities
  • Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies
  • Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces)
  • Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
  • Answer, report and follow executive chef’s instructions
  • Clean up station and take care of leftover food
  • Stock inventory appropriately
  • Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
  • Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
Requirements
  • Proven cooking experience
  • Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
  • Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
  • Familiar with industry’s best practices
Culinary school diploma is a plus

Store Clerk/Front of House

Full time / Part Time Openings - Compensation base on experience The front of house staff members are the face of our establishment. They are the employees that customers come in contact with, and are expected to provide excellent customer service. While having great food is a critical component to a food service establishment, the overall experience of the customer including how they were greeted and treated during their experience is just as critical and keeps returning patrons happy. Responsibilities
  • Greet customers and take food orders as required by the kitchen
  • Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies
  • Bus tables
  • Work the cash register
  • Prepare brewed coffees, espressos, smoothies, shakes and sandwiches
  • Work soft serve machine
  • Check food dates and cycle foods accordingly
  • Follow opening or closing procedures
  • Clean up all stations, bus bathroom, dust store items and shelves, sweep and mop
  • Take care of leftover food, wrap and date all items
  • Stock inventory appropriately
  • Check the quality and presentation of the food before it is served to the customer
  • Comply with sanitation regulations and safety standards
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
Requirements:
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Food service experience and knowledge of food safety a plus
  • Experience with cash register and handling money
  • You'll need to be flexible to work nights and weekends
  • Barista skill a plus
  • Must be 18+ to apply
